A Helluva Day 1: Where it all started

Chapter 1

We went to college expecting a lot of action since we had bunked the previous day and watched 'Aptharakshaka'. It was common that we bunked and watched movies but this time it was the number(twenty of us) and the consistency(we bunk only on thursday afternoon as our HOD pointed out!) with which we bunked that got us into trouble. We usually plan the reasons we give in such

situations. One standard reason would be that there was a 'We dont remember the name!!' pooja in Tapas' place( He forgets the name of the ceremony most of the times!!). This time there was no plan. I had buying books as the reason and that would eventually be our gameplan.

The day started with me giving reviews of the movie to all my friends. The bell rang and we were soon in the class. Our lecturers Mr.A and Ms B entered the class. They read our names and we were told not to attend the classes.Since it was expected, some of us were making plans to go out!! Then I made a futile attempt to keep this incident in the class since goin to HOD would be boring (It seriously is when you are on the receiving end). My excuse of books was not considered even though i made it sound legitimate. My argument was met with an 'I don't know by Ms B. We were given a choice, we could stay but there would be no classes for the rest of the people too. Most of our friends begged us to stay. But we believed in taking advantage of this issue and address bigger issues. And what happened later was legendary!!!

To be continued...

P.S: Aaptharakshaka is a good movie. Probably a masterpiece in Kannada film history. A fantastic psychological thriller. Vishnu has given a good movie to his fans before leaving this world. Take a bow sir!!!

Barca V/S Stuttgart

I woke up finally after repeated pleas by my mobile phone to watch the champions league match. The kick off must have been at around 1 o clock IST. I switched the television on at around 125 and I see a cross being deflected by Cacau straight into the goal!!! I rubbed my eyes and thought it was a dream, but it wasn't. Not the best start, I thought. That was the 24th minute.

I sat down patiently watching every pass and every pass that was getting intercepted. Things were not working for Barca. Neither was Messi magic. I was wondering what on the earth they were doing with the 69 % possession!!! And then came an oppurtunity in the 40th minute and Ibrahimovic messed it up!!! Things looked tense, and it showed on Pep Guardiola's face! And then there was the half time whistle.

I managed to put some stuff on download and come back to watch the second half. After the same pass and intercepted pass routine, Ibrahimovic made up for his first half miss with a goal off the second attempt in the 52nd minute. Gerard Pique's assist was very valuable. Now i could stay calm...

The rest of the match was all about players falling down and faking injuries, so nothing special about it. The result 1-1. It is like an insurance policy for Barca who go into the second leg with an away goal. Go Barca Go!!!

The small guitarist

Armed with a guitar as tall as himself,
He sits on the smallest chair,
Making faces like an elf,
As nervous eyes looked elsewhere.

Everyone finds him cute and small,
But he doesn't want to be written off,
Bullied at school as he was not tall,
This was his time, the day's better half.

Spoke only to his guitar, he was shy,
Told it about the song that he wanted to try,
Tapping his foot to get the timing right,
Closed his eyes to see a different sight.

Fingers fought with the strings,
As he tried to play the song,
Happily oblivious to all other things,
But the joy wouldn't last long.

Cacophony filled the air,
The song went awfully wrong,
He stopped and scratched his head,
Said to himself it wouldn't take long.

Then he waited for his turn,
As his teacher taught the rest,
Humming the tune he could not learn,
He sat like a student earnest
